Level 2: 3D Printing (FDM)
Before completing Level 2: 3D Printing, please ensure you have completed Level 1: 3D Printing
Overview
Level 2 : 3D Printingis for those wishing to operate the FDM printers independently, including; slicing, printing, changing filament and performing minor maintenance on the machines. Training includes; basic file set up, slicing, standard machine operation, emergency procedures.
This training is comprised of the following 2 parts.
Online Assessment
Practical Demonstration in the workshop
Once training has been completed, staff/students will be able to book & operate dFab's suite of self service FDM printers independently.
The dFab team will supervise and guide Level 2 staff/students through the correct operation procedures until they can confidently complete the tasks independently. Documentation & assistance from the dFab team is always available.
Online Assessment
To complete training, you will need to read through all sections contained in Level 2 : 3D Printing. Once finished, you will be prompted to complete the online assessment. You are welcome to refer back to this information whilst completing the online assessment.
When you have successfully completed the assessment, you will receive a confirmation email & instructions on how to book your practical demonstration.
