Completion & Clean Up

Remove Work form Laser Cutter

After the completion of a job,

  1. Carefully remove all cut pieces and offcuts. Do not apply significant force when removing sheets Occasionally work may become stuck around the laser head. Ask dFab staff to lower the vector table if this occurs

  2. Remove all tape from the vector table & Inspect for excessive debris. Notify dFab staff if overly filled

  3. Close the laser lid.

  4. Turn off extraction (if no one is laser cutting)

  5. Close documents and remove USB from laser PC. Do not log out or turn off PC

  6. Wipe down all surfaces with isopropyl wipes (Keyboard, Mouse, Laser Control Panel, Power Switch & Lid)

The laser cutter may be left on.

Material Offcuts & Waste

Material off-cuts must be;

  • Taken with you.

  • Disposed of in one of the large blue skips. Please take care and place recyclable materials such as paper and cardstock in the cardboard only skip.

or

  • Left in the correct section of the reuse station designed for Plywood, Acrylic and Paper + Cardstock. Please ensure these offcuts are usable sheets that do not contain any sharp edges.

No Prohibited Materials, Scrap and/or Rubbish can be placed in the material reuse station.

dFab staff do not take any responsibility for disposing of user rubbish. Mistreatment of the facilities may result in the loss of laser cutting privileges.
