Load HP 3D Scan

Setup Type

Select Projector Setup 2

Projector Setup

Select the Acer Projector from the drop-down list. If the projector does not appear on this list, ensure the projector is powered on and connected correctly.

Camera Setup

Both cameras should be present and active. If cameras do not appear on the list, ensure cameras are powered on & connected correctly.

Set Frame Rate Limit to 60. Selecting an alternative frame rate may result in noisy or blurred scans.

Flickering / Strobing Camera If the sine wave appears noisy despite little environmental changes or if you observe the camera flickering/strobing, you will need to reinstall the camera driver.

Adjust Camera Angle and Spacing

Place the object centrally on the turntable or scanning surface before adjusting the cameras. Ensure the object can be seen fully within both camera views. If the object is exceeding either camera view, move the object being scanned further away from the camera & projector set up or adjust the boom arm, rail & camera angle.

The angle of the cameras can be adjusted by loosening the thumbscrew below the camera. Camera angles must be between 15⁰ and 25⁰. Cameras can be moved along the rail and do not need to be spaced equally from the projector. Take note of the angle used and ensure both cameras are set to the same angle.

Adjust Camera Focus

Using HP Scan, Select a camera by clicking on the corresponding camera view. This will enlarge the viewport allowing for easier focusing

Manually adjust the camera focus by rotating the front dial of the camera until the image becomes clear.

Repeat for the second camera.

Once the cameras have been adjusted & focussed, a calibration is required.
