MADA students and staff with access to dFab are expected to behave in a professional manner in accordance with the University’s Behaviours in the Workplace Procedure and following the University’s ethical principles as detailed in the Ethics Policy.

Appropriate and compliant behaviours while working in dFab include:

Inappropriate and non–compliant behaviours include:

  • Ignoring directives by dFab Staff.

  • Pressuring dFab Staff.

  • Discriminatory behaviour towards others in dFab.

  • Bullying, aggressive and/or disrespectful behaviour towards others in dFab.

Outcomes of Inappropriate and non – compliant behaviour:

Any person responsible for such behaviours will be required to meet with the dFab Manager to discuss the appropriate course of action to be taken. Dependent on the severity and frequency of behaviours, the following actions may be taken;

  • Issuing of caution for behaviour

  • Restriction/suspension of access

  • Complete revoking of access rights

Caution: A caution will be issued by the dFab coordinator in writing and will require a meeting to resolve the matter.

Suspension: At the completion of a suspension an individual is required to retake the General Access assessment. In addition, if the suspension relates to the misuse of equipment, the appropriate training must be completed before they will be re-issued access to the equipment.

Complete revocation of access: A complete revocation of access is the result of serious, ongoing issues and once enacted will not be reversed.
