Troubleshooting Laser Cutting Issues
The file does not send to laser / appear on the laser control panel
Ensure Laser Cutter is turned ON
Ensure you are using the correct PC
Ensure the file has been sent to the correct printer
Contact dFab staff if the issue persists
Machine is cutting a previous job
Pause / Stop Job
Use the scroller to find the most recent job or
Reboot cutter and re-send file
The laser is not firing & continuously running left to right
Pause / Stop Job
Contact dFab staff if the issue persists
The laser is cutting the same area twice
or
The laser is firing directly into the vector grid
high risk of fire & unwanted cut outcome
Pause / Stop Job
The laser is cutting over the rulers on the side
high risk of damage to equipment
Pause / Stop Job & Consult staff immediately
The laser is moving along your linework but does not fire and fails to cut/engrave/etch
Pause / Stop Job
Ensure laser lid / machine door is fully closed. (All interlocks are engaged)
Contact dFab staff to check optics & review file set up
Laser is firing but not cutting through the full depth of material
Pause / Stop Job
Ensure you are cutting a suitable material
Ensure material has been correctly secured to the vector table
Ensure correct material settings have been assigned
Contact dFab staff to check optics & review file set up
