2: Access & Training

Swipe Access to the Workshop

Once the General Access Induction Assessment has been completed, swipe access will be granted to your M-Pass in 1-2 days. This will give you access to dFab's medium risk area during operational hours.

Further training is required to operate equipment within the space.

Booking Equipment within the Workshop

Skedda is the booking system used in MADA's workshops to keep track of completed training & track equipment usage. Visit mada.skedda.com to create your account.

Open Access Equipment

The following equipment is located outside the workshop in Building G and can be used during building access hours, typically 8 am - 10 pm. (these may vary throughout the semester)

Spray Booth (G1.22)

Hot Wire Cutters (G1.21 - Project Assembly Space)

Extraction Snorkels (G1.21 - Project Assembly Space)

Self Service Equipment

Training for self-service equipment is obtained by undertaking the relevant once-off training program or induction (see list below). Once completed, you will receive a virtual sticker enabling you to book the equipment using dFab's Booking System - Skedda.

Bureau Operated Equipment

The following equipment/services are operated by dFab staff and are accessible via file submission forms. Prior to submission to these forms, some training may be required (see list below.) Information on all Bureau services is available online and should be examined prior to submission.

Lvl 0 : General Access dFab recommends completing Lvl 1 : Laser Cutting if you are interested in metal laser cutting
